Lands of America recently had nearly $3 billion in land, homesites and other rural acreage for sale in the Hoosier State, which covers over 130,000 acres of land for sale in Indiana. Of the 92 counties in the state, Porter County had the most land for sale. There were 2,893 acres of sold land in Indiana recorded in February 2019 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a change in sales activity over data from the previous month. Ripley County recorded the most land sales recently in the state. Most visitors to Indiana flock to Indianapolis for the Indy 500 and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, its sports teams, and the city's world-class children's museum. Beyond the big city, however, Indiana offers attractions including the bucolic pleasures of Elkhart's Amish Country, five up-and-coming wine trails, hundreds of u-pick orchards, and farm-to-table restaurants and markets. The state has also been ranked among the ten best states for the cost of living by U.S. News & World Report. In terms of its size, Indiana is the country's 38th-largest state, covering an area of 36,420 square miles (23 million acres). In its entirety, 35,826 square miles is made up of land, while the remaining 593 square miles is made up of water. Game species to be found on land for sale in Indiana include turkey, whitetail deer, ducks, geese, dove, and quail. Anglers can enjoy casting for catfish and bass.
