Recent data from Lands of America records almost $3 billion in land and ranches for sale in the Hospitality State, which covers a total of 110,332 acres of Indiana land for sale. Of Indiana's 92 counties, Porter County had the most land and farms for sale. There were 1,647 acres of sold land in Indiana recorded in December through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a zero percent reduction in sales activity over the previous month, with a combined land value of $10 million for all property and land sold in the state. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $10 million. The most land sales in the state last month were located in Martin, Ripley County. Most visitors to Indiana flock to Indianapolis for the Indy 500 and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, its sports teams, and the city's world-class children's museum. Beyond the big city, however, Indiana offers attractions including the bucolic pleasures of Elkhart's Amish Country, five up-and-coming wine trails, hundreds of u-pick orchards, and farm-to-table restaurants and markets. The state has also been ranked among the ten best states for the cost of living by U.S. News & World Report. In terms of size, Indiana is the country's 38th-largest state, covering an area of 36,420 square miles (23 million acres). Of its total landmass, 35,826 square miles of the state is land, while the remaining 593 square miles is covered by water. Wildlife species to be found on land for sale in Indiana include turkey, whitetail deer, ducks, geese, dove, and quail. Anglers can enjoy casting for catfish and bass.
