Recent data from Lands of America shows $341 million in land and rural real estate for sale for sale in the Crossroads of America. This represents some 17,330 acres of Indiana land for sale. The most expensive property listed for sale on Lands of America recently was $3 million, although the median price for land and other rural acreage for sale in Indiana came in at $239,478. The average price of land and ranches for sale in Indiana was $293,969. There was 281 acres of sold land in Indiana recorded in May 2018 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a decrease in sales activity over April 2018 data. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $1.4 million. Most visitors to Indiana flock to Indianapolis for the Indy500 and Indianapolis Motor Speedway, its sports teams and the city's world-class children's museum. Beyond the big city, however, Indiana offers attractions including the bucolic pleasures of Elkhart's Amish Country and five up-and-coming wine trails and hundreds of u-pick orchards and farm-to-table restaurants and markets. In terms of size, Indiana is the country's 38th-largest state, covering an area of 36,420 square miles (23 million acres). Of this area, 35,826 square miles (98 percent) covers land area, while the remaining 593 square miles comprises water.
